Life on the Farm
About
Farmluxe
Here at Farmluxe my goal is to inspire people to grow and garden. I believe that movement, creativity, nature, and a healthful diet are some of the best catalysts for living a fulfilled life and gardening brings these things in abundance. If you’ve never grown anything I urge you to give it a try, whether it’s in pots on a patio, a side yard garden, or a full-blown farm. If you want to start a garden but don’t know where to start, please check out Club Farmluxe, where you can immerse yourself in the dreamy world of blooms, gardens, and so much joy. You can also check out my book, Blooms & Dreams, which is all about cultivating wellness, generosity, and a connection to the land. All of my income generated from Blooms & Dreams goes directly to Helpline House, the Bainbridge Island food bank.
Misha
Hi, I’m Misha, a wife and mother to two lovely daughters. I’m also a gardener, farmer, garden designer, author, photographer, videographer, show host, a passionate creative, a lifelong vegetarian, beginner banjo player – and the list goes on. I’ve never actually fit neatly into one box and that’s ok – we can be many things! My family and I moved from the city to our beloved farm so we could slow down and reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. The idea was to provide a therapeutic healing environment for our children (and ourselves) after a turbulent time in our lives. Wellness has increasingly become a huge part of my focus. I feel that farm life offers the perfect antidote to today’s hurried, device-driven world. If you want to learn more about how and why we started our farm please check out my book, Blooms & Dreams.
Sky Dance farm
Sky Dance Farm is located on San Juan Island in the state of Washington. The land is made up of 20 acres – 17 of which are kept as a sanctuary for nature and wildlife – and 3 which we cultivate to grow fresh organic food and flowers. The food and flowers are grown for family use, for our floral arranging workshops and events, as well as donated to the local community. At Sky Dance, we have a happy herd of furry friends, most of whom have been rescued or adopted from around the area. We don’t farm our animals for meat or dairy – they’re just here as guests, and lucky for us they provide lovely compost for the garden. In the summer we hold wellness workshops & day retreats at the farm and hope you’ll consider joining us!
